Time saver Jul 12, 2010 Love this one cup wonder. Just what I was looking for. Got a similar one for my husband to use at work that dispenses into a travel mug. He LOVES not having to go to the deli to buy an expensive, watered down cup of coffee at an outrageous price.
Perfect for the occasional coffee drinker Jul 03, 2010 Absolutely perfect for the occasional coffee drinker. I always used to manage to make a full pot and have one cup, or even completely forget about it. This is ideal, done quick before you leave the room, so you leave the kitchen with what you intended to drink all along. Cleanup and ease of use is hard to match, I personally couldn't think of a better design.
Not quite perfect Jun 28, 2010 The Black & Decker DCM7 Cup-At-A-Time coffee maker is small, elegantly functional and nearly perfect. It brews a cup of joe in seconds, and there are no filters to buy. It also makes plain hot water, if that's what you want for tea, instant soup, hot chocolate, etc. Nine ounces of water brings the reservoir level up to the full-line, and you may be able to add another ounce or so, but any information that suggests this is a 12-ounce model is mistaken. While the filter itself is easily cleaned, the DCM7's biggest fault is that it has several needlessly difficult to wash areas. Thanks to a number of 90 degree crevices in places like the water reservoir, the drip bowl and the drip basket, any occasional deep-cleaning is very impractical. I'm not saying that most other coffee makers don't suffer from the same flaw, but how difficult can it be to contour plastic interiors with gradual curves? This unit fits well in a 7 x 7 x 9 inch counter-top space. When the top is open, it will be 14 inches tall and can easily be moved if overhead clearance is tight. Despite some of the photographs you may have seen, this compact design will not accept a cup any taller than 4 inches. Shop around, discounts are available.
black & decker personal coffee maker Mar 24, 2010 Excellent product at a fair price. Easy to use, easy to clean and maintain, make your own kind of coffee at your own strength, or just boil water. Makes coffee very fast!
keep the box and return label handy Dec 01, 2009 I think this product works fine as advertised, though nothing taller than a standard 12oz cup will fit.
However, I sent the first one back after only 30 days because it stopped working. Never turned on again.
Had the second one for about 8 more months. Now it stopped working. Won't turn on anymore. This replacement cost about $8 in shipping so it wasn't FREE. So after $23 and 9 months, no coffee maker again.
If you want to rent this model for $20+ per year, it's fine. If you want something you don't have to buy again and again, it's not.
